Historic Riverlands is where you’ll find the essence and resounding heartbeat of New Orleans Plantation Country.

Historic Riverlands offers two tours:

Historic Riverlands Christian Center, formerly Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, was the first African American Catholic Church in the River Parishes, providing a place of worship, where blacks could fully participate in a safe, spiritual communion without segregation from white churchgoers.  The story of this historic pillar of comfort and safety is told and experienced in the original church building, built in 1937 and relocated to its current home in 1991. You will be moved and inspired by the story of this journey, and the hope, strength, love, generosity of those that made it happen.

The Soul River Tour is a journey into the impact of African Americans in music starting with call and response to modern-day R&B and Hip-Hop.
